What Is an IME?
An IME is a one-time medical evaluation by a doctor chosen by the insurance company. The doctor examines you, reviews your medical records, and provides an opinion on your injuries, treatment, and prognosis. The insurer uses this opinion to challenge your claim.
Your Rights in Colorado
- In litigation, the defendant can request one IME under Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 35
